A 39-year-old Albanian disappeared last July from the province of Milan, where he was serving his sentence in the local prison. However, the Albanian was found and arrested on August 10 in the eastern suburbs of Rome, more than 600 kilometers away.

According to  media across the Adriatic , the 39-year-old escaped on July 28 from a facility in Mesero, where he was serving his sentence. The investigations started immediately after the escape of the Albanian and focused on the Roman territory of Rocca Cencia, where he had already been arrested in the past.

This was not the first time he escaped, as in fact, in 2020, he managed to escape from Velletri prison before being trapped after a daring chase in the capital. A year ago, however, he was arrested in Linate on his way back to Italy after being deported for a series of crimes committed over the years, including the attempted murder of a police officer.

After returning to the cell, the 39-year-old Albanian must still serve the sentence of 1 year and 3 months, but in the meantime the decision on the escape is expected.
