Statements made by former British far-right politician Nigel Farage about illegal Albanian immigrants in Great Britain have caused outrage on social media, especially on Twitter.
"Now that one in ten foreign-born parents in Great Britain are Albanians, do you think what this report will be like in five years?" the former UKIP chairman wrote.
Farage's post quotes the UK organisation Migration Watch, which referred to a Daily Mail article that said "Albanians are among the most frequent parents for foreign-born people in the UK for the first time".
Farage often visits the region, especially in Serbia.
In a video published three days ago, Farage also said albanians trying to cross the English Channel to enter England were not "desperate poor people" as mainstream media such as the BBC "are trying to portray them". "No, they're young guys and a lot of them are actually quite aggressive," he said.
Farage, 58, led the right-wing UKIP party and later the Brexit party until 2021.
Concern about rising illegal immigration from Albania has come under the spotlight these days in Great Britain after reports that 4 in 10 illegal immigrants crossing La Manshin are Albanians.
