The cocaine was seized

The Italian authorities have executed this morning an extensive operation in Vicenza against drug trafficking. Albanian businessman Anton Likmeta, 35 years old, with a previous criminal record, was put in handcuffs.

Italian media reports that through logistical support and the help of his Romanian partner, Likmeta for some time managed a flourishing cocaine traffic that affected the entire Triveneto with a turnover estimated to be around hundreds of thousands of euros.

During the investigations, it was also possible to ascertain the route taken by the large sums of money, the result of the cocaine trading activity. These were initially carried by his Romanian partner. Then, through trusted people who used current accounts opened in Romanian banking institutions, to concretely prevent the identification of the illegal origin of the money, the capital was returned to the national territory (Italy).

Only after this articulate maneuver, Likmeta, now the owner of a sole proprietorship for the sale of luxury cars (Porsche, Maserati...), reintroduced significant amounts of "clean" money in Italy, to finance his entrepreneurial activities.

In its operational phase, the illegal activity of dealing cocaine and laundering illegal proceeds was stopped for the last time in April 2022, when the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit found and arrested the couple aboard a luxury car.

The search operations of Likmeta, also extended to his house, made it possible to find and seize about 670 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of hash and 43,200 euros in cash. He was then arrested for flagrante delicto.

After the arrest of Likmeta in flagrante delicto, the authorities of the investigative unit of Vicenza, in the month of June, carried out the measure by intercepting and seizing the additional amount of 255,000 euros in the current account in the name of the woman, who had just arrived from Romania.
