Although football should be a sport that unites nations, it seems that this does not always work.
The match between Hungary and Ukraine, played yesterday as part of the "Nations League" competition , proved this.
At the end of the match, football gave way to punches and kicks, as players from both teams became involved in a violent brawl.
In videos that have gone viral on social media, players can be seen shooting each other, while others intervene to quell the conflict.

The cause of the clash was a red card given by the referee to Ukrainian player Oleksandr Nazarenko, after a harsh tackle he made on a Hungarian player.
He had already received a yellow card, and therefore, was sent off.
This caused irritation among Ukrainians.
Mykola Matviienko and Viktor Tsygankov began clashing with Dominik Szoboszlai and Hungary's Milos Kerkez , with the conflict quickly escalating.
In the end, he gave yellow cards to Szoboszlai, Kerkez, Matviienko and Tsygankov and ended the match with a score of 0-1 in favor of Ukraine.
