The French Football Federation has officially named Zinedine Zidane as the new coach of the national team.
The French football legend takes over from Didier Deschamps and has signed a four-year contract that will keep him on the bench until 2030.
Federation President Philippe Diallo introduced Zidane during a special press conference, with the former Real Madrid coach set to officially take office on August 1.
During his presentation, Zidane emphasized that managing the French national team was a big dream and a goal he had had for a long time.
He revealed that in recent years he had rejected several offers, as after the adventure with Real Madrid he had only one desire, to sit on the France bench.
Now Zidane's new mission is to lead the "Roosters" towards the 2028 European Championship and the 2030 World Cup.
A challenge that he knows very well, as as a footballer he has written some of the most glorious pages in the history of the French national team.
In 1998, he won the World Cup, and two years later he triumphed in the European Championship.
In the 2006 World Cup, he reached the final, in a tournament that ended with the famous red card episode after a clash with Marco Materazzi.
Zidane was long considered the ideal successor to Didier Deschamps, who is leaving after 14 years in charge of France.
Under his leadership, the French national team won the World Cup in 2018 and the Nations League in 2021, returning to the top of world football.
With the arrival of Zidane, a new chapter begins for France. A choice that brings prestige, experience and great expectations to continue the winning cycle of the "Roosters".
