UEFA excludes Russia, now Albania has a golden chance in the League of Nations
The Albanian national team

The UEFA Executive Committee has today formalized the exclusion of Russia from any football competition at the level of national teams and clubs until 2023.

This means that the Russian national football team will not face Albania in the League of Nations.

This is good news for the Albanian national team, as Russia was considered the strongest team in Group 2, which also includes Israel and Iceland.

"Russia will not participate in Group 2 of League B and will automatically be ranked fourth in this group. As a result, they will fall at the end of the group stage and will be ranked 16th, last, in League B ", it is written in the part of the decision that concerns the participation in the League of Nations 2022", it is said on the page of UEFA.

Due to the Russian attack on Ukraine, UEFA has rejected Russia's offer to be the host country of "Euro 2028" or "Euro 2020".

Whereas, no Russian club will participate in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League in the 2022-2023 edition.
