UEFA fines eight clubs for 'Fair Play' financial breach, four are

UEFA has fined eight clubs for breaches of Fair Play Financial, including Milan, Inter, Juventus, Roma and PSG, but has forgiven Napoli, Lazion, Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea citing "Covid" as reasons.

A statement issued by UEFA confirms that the eight clubs fined have agreed to pay a total fine of 172ml euros, which will be borne by the income these clubs earn from participating in UEFA club competitions.

However, only 26m euros of this figure must be paid in full, while the remainder is a condition based on compatibility with the objectives stated in their individual obligation write-off agreements.

This means Milan have been asked to pay 2m euros out of a total 15m euros, Juventus must pay 3.5m euros out of a total 23m euros, Inter 4m euros out of the total of 26m euros and Rome must pay 5m euros out of 35ml euros fine.

The biggest fine goes to Paris Saint-Germain, which must pay 10m euros now, with 65m euros covered by the collision settlement agreement.

The other clubs penalized are Monaco, Marseille, and Besiktas. Juventus and Milan have a deal forcing them to pay full fines within a three-year deadline, while Inter and Roma for four years.

That means Inter and Roma will have limited squads in Europe this season, with 23 players instead of 25.

Napoli, Lazio, Barcelona, Chelsea, Leicester City, Manchester City and West Ham United have avoided action due to "extraordinary COVID discounts and review of historical financial results" but from this season clubs will be under uefa's strict watch.
