"I need players like him", Ten Hag puts an end to rumors about
Ronaldo and Erik ten Haag

"Cristiano Ronaldo will stay, we need quality players like him as there will be many matches". Two days from the closing of the market, Erik ten Hag in the press conference closes the CR7 issue and practically the transfer market ("always unless we have an extraordinary opportunity, because as an elite club we must always be vigilant") of Manchester United.

"We will play with this team from September to January", are the words of the coach of the Red Devils, who also added that the arrival of Antony will take away minutes from the Portuguese: "It is clear, but undoubtedly Cristiano is still part of our team. We need quality players to stay competitive in all competitions."

"For Antony there is an agreement with Ajax, but we have to complete the last documents and I can't talk about it before everything is determined - explained the former coach of Ajax - However, in attack we need reinforcements because there are many games to play and strikers tire more easily, always running at high intensity".

Thus, CR7 will not move from Old Trafford. The Portuguese has gone from being the cover man in all the papers in the last two weeks, when his name was being discussed for a transfer to various teams, to "the player we need" just as the market enters its hottest hours.

Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to stay in Manchester and miss the beloved Champions League for the first time in two decades next season.
