Gareth Bale deserves all the respect of Real Madrid fans after leaving the club, says his Wales manager, Robert Page.
Having faced fierce criticism from Spanish fans and media in the past, the Wales captain was applauded as Real celebrated at the Bernabeu on Sunday.
"They [Real fans] showed class and rightly so for what he has achieved for that club," Page said.
"Look at what he's done, scoring winning goals in the Champions League finals and in the way he's done it, he deserves all the glory, absolutely.
"What an achievement for him personally. To be part of that group of people, that team that achieved it, is phenomenal. Not many players can say they did that, so it's credit to him for that."
Bale's nine-year stint initially sparkling, but recently full of controversy at Real, will end when his contract, worth about 800,000 euros a week, expires this summer.
After celebrating Saturday's win over Liverpool with his madrid teammates on Sunday, the 32-year-old has joined the Wales squad as they prepare for Wednesday's Nations League match in Poland, four days before Sunday's World Cup play-off final against Scotland or Ukraine.
