Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , have leveled accusations against the leader of the Together Movement, Arlind Qori, including him in debates about the student protests and those held in Tirana.

Rama returned today to the 2018 student protest, using it as an example of the importance of dialogue between students and the government.

In his reaction, the prime minister accused several lecturers, including  Arlind Qori , whom he described as a "neo-communist", of obstructing the start of dialogue with students, as he claims had happened eight years ago.

According to Rama, after the 2018 protest, dialogue with students led to the drafting of the University Pact.

He drew parallels between that period and the current situation, opposing making dialogue conditional on the prior fulfillment of the protesters' demands.

"As Prime Minister, I coordinated the joint effort with students for the Pact for the University, through dialogue, after the massive protest of 2018. Even then, it took several weeks for the dialogue to begin, because even then, those same evil types among your pedagogues, from a neo-communist Qor to some blind democrats, along with young men and women who followed them like followers of false idols, were doing the same thing they are doing today: 'There is no dialogue, fill in our gaps'", declared Rama.

The Prime Minister called on students to sit down for talks with the government, emphasizing that he is ready to discuss their demands regarding the university and government policies.

"Come and sit wherever you want and whenever you want about what you think we should do more of and I should do better, for you, for the university and for Albania if you like," Rama said.

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has also positioned himself in the same line of attacks against Arlind Qori, who during a media conference accused him of tensions and violence during the protests in the capital.

Berisha claimed that people connected to Qori provoked clashes and exerted pressure on protesters, while praising the role of the DP in supporting civic movements.

"But this ritual was repeated every day at a time when the gangs of Rama's Qorri, Arlind Qorri, terrorized the city with fists every night: 'Long live communism!'" Berisha declared.

He also claimed that the DP had supported the protests without imposing its political symbols, describing this stance as respect for the youth and civic character of the movement.

"The only political force, I tell you here, that supported that movement with all its might without any symbol of its own, was the DP," Berisha said.
