Ancelotti under pressure and on target, the confrontation with Perez decisive
Carlo Ancelotti

"Sunk", "Bitter reality": these are just some of the harsh headlines that the Spanish press has dedicated to Real Madrid, after yesterday's defeat in Liverpool's field and the risk of being eliminated from the Champions League playoffs . The Blancos, currently 24th in the table, are revealing their weaknesses and fragility despite the summer's big signing, Kylian Mbappé. The Frenchman, the protagonist in a negative way at "Anfield" (he missed a penalty that could have equalized the result), is also making the plans of the technician Carlo Ancelotti, who has faced harsh criticism, difficult.

The Italian coach, who lost a key figure like Kroos in the summer and is dealing with a host of injuries (Vinicius, Alaba, Carvajal, Tchouaméni and Rodrygo are out), called for patience even after the loss to the Reds. But Florentino Perez, as you know, does not tolerate defeat or mediocrity. He always aims for the top and is not content with a Real competing in La Liga against an in-form Barcelona (the Blancos are 4 points behind with a game in hand). Not for nothing, according to "Marca", the president of Real Madrid and Ancelotti will meet before Sunday's challenge against Getafe. A decisive match to understand if the club still has faith in the former coach of Milan.

The future in question

Until now, the 65-year-old from Reggiolo had never been in doubt, but the situation could change, especially if the future results are not satisfactory. So Ancelotti, who nevertheless enjoys a great reputation in the Spanish capital, is feeling more and more pressure. On his side, it seems, are some of the main players of the team, including Modric. An important support that can ensure the coach's stay until the end of the season. After that, a revolution is expected with Xabi Alonso ready to start a new cycle. Meanwhile, the club leaders have started internal reflections on the market strategy during the summer, which is turning out to be a big failure.
