The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, appeared at a media conference after the end of today's protest in Tirana, where he accused the police of serious violence against the protesters.

He described the situation as a "day and night of terror," claiming that members of the "Eagle" and RENEA forces have exercised violence against citizens and used weapons in violation of the rules.

Berisha focused on the injury of a young man, who, according to him, suffered serious eye damage, as well as other cases of injured protesters.

"The police fired with firearms in complete violation of the weapons used. Erion Vishkulli lost his eye. Graduated in Journalism, while absolutely not committing any violent act against anyone. Another peaceful protester was wounded in the eye. Another protester was hit with a bullet above the eyebrow. In the abdomen with a bullet, which must be removed with surgery. Barbaric acts. 40-year-old Lorenzo Bezani was barbarically kicked from the head, body, to the feet, without any act of violence."

The chief democrat also denounced arrests that he described as illegal and claimed that some citizens were raped by police officers.

"Dozens and dozens of others have been tortured, terrorized and taken to police stations, people who had nothing to do with the protest. I am here today, I want to inform Albanians that repeatedly, drugged bandits in uniform sexually harass the girls they pick up in their cars. Not to mention not only the girls. There are no villains like them in Albania!"

The leader of the DP warned that officers who, according to him, have committed violations will be held accountable before the law.

"I guarantee Rama's 'eagles' that the first act of overthrow, the removal of their master, they will one by one be held accountable before the law for heinous crimes ," Berisha said.

He called on citizens to join tomorrow's protest, while announcing that the Democratic Party will organize other national protests.
