The Chief Inspector General of the Republic of Albania, Dashnor Sula, gave an interview with journalist Jetona Koçibelli in "Breaking" on Top News.
Among other things, he spoke about the current situation in the country, the protests and Prime Minister Rama's order for the latest resignations.
Journalist: Would you resign?
Sula : As a citizen, as a parent, and as a civil servant, I express my regret for the entire situation our country is in, considering the injuries and problems during the protests. It is not normal for protesters to be injured or for police officers on duty to be injured.
Journalist: Over 130 public administration leaders have been asked to resign. If they ask you to resign, what will you do?
Sula: I have been in office for 7 months, appointed as the Chief Inspector of the Republic of Albania, it is a very, extremely difficult task. I have found quite large problems and together with my close staff, thanks to the support of the Prime Minister, I have had concrete results. Improving the system, we are preparing for intelligent body cameras for every inspector, at customs points, online inspection. Have we achieved everything? No. Are there problems within my institution, which has 2100 inspectors? Without a doubt, there are many problems.
The main thing is that my moral integrity as the head of the institution, I personally tell the viewer directly that there is no chance that a businessman or a person will corrupt me for appointments, disciplinary measures, etc. I have interference from both the right and the left. I have had strong support from the Prime Minister.
