The Assembly voted with 94 votes in favor of opening the files of the State Security, out of the 71 necessary votes.

The draft law came after the request of the authority after a file was released with a security spy with the initials IM who is suspected to be former President Ilir Meta.

Also, the amendments jointly proposed by DP and SP were approved that anyone can request his file, but I have to argue why he is requesting it and if the data will be made public and misused, he will be held responsible.

In his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama invited the rest of the democratic deputies to vote on the draft to make it possible for the high-ranking personalities who have received a certificate for the purity of their image to be verified again.

Meanwhile, the democratic deputy Oerd Bylykbashi said that the variant agreed between the parties in the Assembly does not bring anything new as it does not perform lustration.

In the plenary session, the absence of the chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha and his supporting deputies was noticed.
