While the teachers are in protest and have boycotted the teaching process, Prime Minister Edi Rama held a ceremony this afternoon at the Prime Minister's Office for the awarding of the "Gold Medal" to graduates who have completed high school with 10 absolutes.

During his speech, Rama said that the Government will no longer finance excellent students to study abroad, but only excellent students who will continue their education in Albania.

The Head of the Government said that the funding will be for between 200 and 400 medical students, who will be prohibited from receiving their diploma for three years when they enter the funding system.

Rama said, among other things, that the university has changed, since 87% of the excellent ones have chosen to study in Albania and not abroad.

"I understand that studying in those universities, the best in the world, means that you enter, with the guarantee that when you leave, companies and prestigious law firms and other systems will come looking for you, offering you a job. Why it's when you're at the top. But to sign an agreement with your state to take tax money from a large number of parents and say I'm going to study and come back, and not only don't come back but don't to remember to make a letter and make yourself available, saying I can't come back, because Jobs took me to work, but I'm available, that's too much and plenty.

We will not finance studies abroad, but we will finance UFOs here, those like you, or others with all the criteria and we will put considerable funding, not giving a scholarship, but a minimum salary, for every student who is of this level. In medicine, we will focus on priority branches, and from 20, we will finance 200-400. Looking at the average that has been, we will give a salary to each one, but those who enter the system will not receive a diploma before three years, which means that you are a doctor, you will work here for three years, then you will also receive the diploma and you are free to go out.

Not that our universities offer the same quality as in European universities, but if you look at the situation in different countries of Europe today with these crisis conditions and very serious problems, less and less universities offer what is seen from afar , are very massive, very busy. The university is changing and not because I want it to be that way, but because there are some facts that show the change. One of the facts is the very significant increase with other universities for joint programs, for quality exchanges, and 41 agreements that are in process are with prestigious universities," said Rama.
