After the still unclear death of the 32-year-old in the evening of October 19 in Tirana, after a police patrol stopped him, the leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha also reacted.
In a Facebook post he calls it an ugly crime, calling the cops " thugs in uniform who tortured him and sent him unconscious to the police station ."
"Bandits in uniform take the life of the 32-year-old Lear Kurti. They brutally tortured him in the police car and sent him without mercy to the police station. Murderers in uniform send him dead to the emergency room. I express my deepest condolences to the family and sentence him to the greatest severity of the ugly crime of the uniformed criminals of Edi Rama and the minister of the Çuçi family," wrote Berisha.
He has also published a message that he received from a citizen, where it is said that the young man was tortured by the police officers who did not even call the ambulance when he felt bad, but sent him in the police car to Trauma.
"Hello, Dr. The drug police take the life of another young man. The 32-year-old who was chased by the drug agents running and after they put him in the van with as many opportunities as possible, he was hit by bandits in uniform. The moment he left there is police station No. 3, where he lost consciousness. According to our sources, the thugs who took the boy's life did not notify the ambulance as required by the protocol, but they sent him in the police car near the trauma premises! The young man's name is Laer Kurti!" wrote Berisha.
