Journalist Adriatik Doçi reports Agron Shehajn to SPAK: Question marks

Journalist Adriatik Doçi has filed a criminal complaint with the Special Prosecutor's Office against MP and leader of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj.

In the complaint dated July 30, 2026, Doçi requests that SPAK verify Shehaj for the suspected criminal offenses of false declaration or concealment of assets, concealment of income and laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense. The charges raised in the document constitute allegations of the complainant and have not yet been proven by the justice authorities.

The report is based on the analysis of Shehaj's asset declarations for the period 2021–2025, as well as on cadastral, commercial and financial documents related mainly to his assets and economic activity in Italy.

At the center of the complaint is a villa in Forte dei Marmi. According to the document, in the 2021 asset declaration, the property was listed as having an area of 251 square meters and a value of 2.9 million euros, while in 2025 it was declared sold for 15 million euros.

Doçi claims that an investment of around 4 million euros, publicly mentioned as an explanation for the reconstruction, expansion and increase in the value of the property, is not individualized in the periodic declarations. According to him, the Italian cadastral documentation shows that the villa has a total area of 459 square meters, unlike the area of 251 square meters reflected in the declaration forms.

Another element raised in the complaint relates to the ownership of the villa. According to Italian documents cited by Doçi, Shehaj appears to have become its owner again on July 7, 2026, less than ten months after he had declared the sale for 15 million euros. The complainant requests that the sales contract, the repurchase contract, the identity of the other party, the real prices and the method of payment be verified.

Doçi also raises questions about a series of income and transactions worth millions declared with general descriptions, such as "other income", "income" or "sale of assets". According to the report, for amounts amounting to around 3.9 million euros during the years 2021-2025, the specific source, paying entity or legal relationship that produced the payment was not individualized in the public forms.

The document also mentions a bank loan of 2.6 million euros, the repayment of a debt of more than 3.6 million euros, loans worth millions and new purchases of assets in Italy. The prosecutor requests that these movements be examined together through banking, tax and commercial documentation in Albania and Italy.

Doçi requests SPAK to register the criminal proceedings and administer the purchase and sale contracts, cadastral documents, bank statements, tax returns, loan contracts, and documentation of works on the villa.
