Threads loses more than half of its users!

Mark Zuckerberg has stated that Meta's newest platform, Threads, has lost more than half of its users.

X's rival reached over 100 million users in just the first 5 days of its launch. But Zuckerberg himself has admitted that the number has fallen.

"If more than 100 million people sign up, it would be amazing if all or half of them continue to use it. We are not there yet ," he said during a meeting with employees.

However, Zuckerberg described the situation as " normal " and said that he expects the return of users with the addition of new options to the application.

Thread was criticized for limited functionality at launch. Meta has added some options such as sharing the posts of the people you follow and recommended ones as well as translating the posts.

The company's director of products, Chris Cox, said that now the focus is on throwing " hooks to catch " people on the platform. According to him, they should make sure that " people on Instagram see the important posts in Threads ".

The two platforms are closely related because to have an account on Threads, you first need to be an Instagram user.
