Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has headed the 2022 poll in 'TIME' magazine as the most influential man in the world.

The poll asked who should be on the magazine's list of the most influential people of the year, reports the BBC.

A total of 3.3 million votes were cast by the public, with Zelensky selected as the leading public figure of 2022.

Earlier, President Zelensky told the magazine that many people around the globe knew him better because of the war.

"You are a symbol. "You have to act the way the head of state should act." These are some of the key messages Zelenski has received recently since the start of the war in Ukraine.

Elon Musk, the new Twitter owner and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, came in second with 3.5% of the vote, and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson came close to third with 3.4% of the public vote.
