Hundreds of Japanese fill the streets to bid farewell to former Prime Minister

The body of former Japanese leader Shinzo Abe will be cremated at Tokyo's Kirigaya Funeral Hall following a private funeral on Tuesday.

The car carrying Abe's body traveled through the streets of the Japanese capital, passing a number of important buildings, including the Prime Minister's office and the Parliament building.

Huge crowds of people have lined the streets as a mark of respect to bid a final farewell to their former prime minister. 

Many were seen waving and raising their arms in the air as the vehicle drove past, while others bowed their heads in respect. Former Prime Minister Abe's widow, Akie Abe, was seen riding in the front seat of the hearse.
