A British tourist has miraculously escaped an avalanche in the Tian Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan.

Harry Shimmin, has posted a video on social networks where the avalanche can be seen coming down from a great distance until it approached and covered it with a layer of snow, writes The Guardian.

He escaped death because of his position, as he was behind the rocks, near a shelter. In this expedition, he was together with 9 other people.

"I didn't move until the last minute and I know it would be safer to move to a shelter immediately. I also know that I risked a lot", he said.
