A shocking case of rape was recorded in the village of Plemetin of the Municipality of Obiliq in Kosovo.

A minor girl after her marriage was sexually abused by her father-in-law while her husband was away from home. The case was reported to the police by the mother of the victim, while through a communique from the police they say that the examination of the girl has already been done.

She had taken a child bride. However, the house which had opened its doors to the young bride, also became a place of rape for her. This is because the minor, who belongs to minority communities, was raped by someone from the young family.

The sources of RTV Dukagjin say that the abuser is her father-in-law. However, she did not dare to report the case to the Police.

However, this was taken care of by the minor's mother, who together with her daughter went to the police station in Obiliq to report the rape.

"The minor Kosovar female victim, accompanied by her mother, reported that while her husband was not at home, she was raped by the male Kosovar suspect. By order of the guardian prosecutor, the victim was examined and the case is being investigated" , the police said.

In Kosovo, the number of reporting cases of sexual rape has increased, but according to the analysis of verdicts for cases of sexual rape, the low punishments for the perpetrators of these crimes remain worrying.
