US media: Iran is using the ceasefire with the US to bring out weapons hidden

Iran is exploiting the ceasefire to bring out weapons hidden underground ahead of US and Israeli strikes, US officials told NBC.

According to US media, Tehran has intensified operations to recover ballistic missiles and ammunition in recent days. The Islamic Republic's aim, according to the US, is to re-establish its arsenal of drones and missiles to strike targets in the Middle East if Washington decides to resume attacks.

US President Donald Trump is considering options with his national security team, including new military action to open the Strait of Hormuz and strip Iran of any nuclear material.

Trump is expected to decide on the path he will follow in the coming days, according to the top US official.

Iran began blocking the Strait of Hormuz after the US and Israel began their bombing campaign on February 28, and the move has caused global oil prices to rise sharply.

Trump responded with a naval blockade of Iranian ports in the strait.

The temporary ceasefire came into effect on April 8 to give the US and Iran space to negotiate an end to the war and reopen the strait, but the talks have so far yielded no results.
