VIDEO: Tensions in front of the Prime Minister's Office

Clashes between protesters and the State Police continued on Saturday evening, November 7, on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, where officers intervened with water cannons to disperse the crowd gathered near the Prime Minister's Office.

Police forces have advanced with patrol cars in the area of the boulevard bridge, using pressurized water towards the protesters.

The latter responded by throwing fireworks at the officers, while the intervention forced part of the crowd to withdraw from the area in front of the government building.

After the police advanced, the protesters gathered in other directions. Some continued to remain on the boulevard, while others moved to the sidewalks along it.

So far, there is no confirmed information whether people were escorted by the State Police during the intervention.

The evening clashes follow incidents recorded earlier in front of the Ministry of Education, where protesters burned trash cans and threw stones at officers.

At that stage of the rally, police used water cannon and tear gas to disperse the protesters.

The crowd then marched towards the Prime Minister's Office, while during the movement an incident was also recorded near the Pedonales and the Art Gallery, where some young people attempted to remove a metal barrier.

Police had set up a security cordon around the Prime Minister's Office and the Presidency of the Assembly before the situation escalated again.

There are still no confirmed reports of people injured during the recent clashes.
