The Albanian Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, has been threatened with death. He has asked the leaders of the public and secret police to investigate the threats he has received due to the arrest of National Security Agency officer Petar Lazovic.

Abazovic said that he asked the Minister of Internal Affairs Filip Adjic, the Director of the Police Administration Zoran Brdanin and the director of the secret services Sava Kentera to gather information about him and prove the truth, saying that in no case, not in a concrete case, he did not exert any influence on the prosecutors and judges, as he claims, were attributed to him by those structures close to Lazović.

The Montenegrin Prime Minister states that groups close to Petar Lazovic and his father Zoran, a former senior police official, are targeting him as the main culprit behind the arrest and are planning some kind of revenge.

"I will not give up even one millimeter, regardless of threats, extremist tones, hate speech, the mission of establishing the rule of law,"  Abazovic emphasizes.

According to the Montenegrin Prime Minister, he understands the need for some criminal structures to attack the government and try to destabilize it, but there is no scenario in which the hand of justice will stop.

"On the contrary, attempts at sabotage, extremist tones, hate speech or threats are futile. I know this causes disappointment to many people, but we have shown that Montenegro is walking the path of freedom and there is no place for drug cartels, cigarette smugglers or corrupt elites. I have been informed by several sources that groups close to Lazovic were mainly targeted because of their problems with the law. They are trying to create an atmosphere in which I, as the prime minister, am allegedly putting pressure on the prosecutors to prosecute Lazovic and the criminal-business group of people around them ," said Prime Minister Abazovic.

Abazovic did not want to state specifically who exactly in Lazovic's circle is targeting him as responsible for his arrest, but he is not receiving any threats.

Lazovic was arrested on July 18 by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization.

An official of the Montenegrin secret service, who is suspected of organizing a criminal group and of cooperation with the criminal clan of Kavaç, at the proposal of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, was ordered to be detained by the law enforcement agencies on July 21.
