The online trading platform "Merrjep" in Kosovo is used by citizens to sell various products. However, some of them are using this space to offer the sale of a very important organ for man - the kidney.
These announcements even specify the donor blood type. However, what is the truth of these posts, where prices range from 6000 to 30 thousand euros.
T7 TV called one of the people who made the announcement, but he asked to be contacted later. Others have indicated that someone else has given them their phone number in these ads, so the calls are constant.
Another citizen had constant calls. People who make these announcements say they are forced to donate kidneys due to difficult economic conditions. But is kidney transplantation allowed in Kosovo? The Ministry of Health has clarified that there is no law in the country for organ transplantation.
According to them, institutions in the country do not have the capacity to provide these services. However, Pleurat Sejdiu, from the Kosovo Chamber of Physicians, says otherwise. According to him, it is meaningless that transplantation is not offered in Kosovo. Sejdiu says that this would stop such bargaining of citizens.
While the Kosovo Police said that they have not handled any other case of this nature, except that of 2008, known as "Medicus". / T7
