The heat wave that has hit Europe and Albania will continue throughout the week.

According to the Institute of Geosciences, Thursday will be the hottest day of this week as the thermometer will reach 42 degrees Celsius, but also on Friday the maximum temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees.

These high temperatures increase the risk of fires. IGJEO has raised the alert for two counties, Berat and Fier, where the temperatures will be scorching.

"In the afternoon (Thursday, the 20th and Friday, the 21st), a "HIGH" risk level is expected in Fier and Berat districts, while a "MODERATE" level is expected in the other districts. but in some of these counties Durrës (L), Elbasan (P), Kukës (VL), Lezhë (VP), Shkodër (VP), Tirana (P) and Vlorë (VL and J), a "HIGH" risk is expected only in localized areas", it is stated in the IGJEO bulletin.

The risk of fires is expected to be higher on Friday according to the Institute of Geosciences.

Citizens should be careful about their health by avoiding staying in the sun for a long time, but they should also avoid incidents with fires, and protect the forests.

In the last two years, especially in the July-September period, our country has suffered from fires, many fires have left behind thousands of hectares of burned forests.
