The police have solved the murder of Besim Hida in Lushnje in 2019, while the perpetrators have been identified.

State Police /In-depth investigations to clarify the criminal events that happened before.  

The coded police operation "Chain" is finalized, in the wake of the operations to uncover criminal events committed by individuals or criminal groups.     

A criminal incident that happened in 2019, in Lushnja, where a 40-year-old man was shot dead, is revealed.      

Thanks to the intensive investigative and professional work done by the central investigative structures and those of the Lushnje Police Station, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, the 3 perpetrators of the murder of the 40-year-old were identified.  

Intensive investigations have been carried out in the last 8 months, by the Sector for the Investigation of Criminal Groups in the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime in the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the investigative structures of the Lushnja Police Station and those of the Prosecutor's Office. 

All 3 perpetrators of murder, citizens with high social risk in the field of crimes against the person.  

The authorship of this event, documented by legal evidence obtained during the intensive investigation.  

In implementation of the work program of the General Directorate of the State Police, for the reopening of old files, in order to provide evidence to identify and arrest the perpetrators of criminal events that happened before, after an intensive investigation carried out in the last 8 months by the Criminal Groups Investigation Sector in the Directorate of Organized Crime Investigation, in cooperation with the Lushnja Police Station, as well as after a professional and investigative work done in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, manages to provide legal evidence and document the authorship of a serious event that happened in Lushnja in 2019.   

In the city of Lushnja, in the neighborhood "Skënder Libohova", in a bar, armed and masked citizens executed with Kalashnikov firearms the citizen B. H, 40 years old, a resident of Lushnja.    

As a result of the evidence provided by the intensive investigation, the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Fier, with the decision dated 16.07.2023, has set the security measures "Arrest in prison", for the perpetrators of this event, the citizens:    

Laert Haxhiu, 31 years old, born and living in Lushnja, currently arrested in Greece. This citizen was arrested in Ioannina, in May of this year, during a joint operation between the State Police and the Greek Police. His extradition to Albania is expected;    

Orgest Bilbili, 33 years old, born and resident in Lushnjë, is currently in IEVP Drenovë, Korçë. This citizen has been sentenced to life imprisonment, in connection with an event previously judged by the Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime. Yesterday, he was notified of the security measure for the murder that occurred in 2019.    

Ardian Ahmetaj, 49 years old, is currently in prison in Greece, after being arrested in 2020, during a joint operation between the State Police and the Greek Police. This citizen was sentenced in 2021, to 11 years of imprisonment, by the Court of Athens, for carrying weapons without a permit under aggravating circumstances, according to the Criminal Code of the Greek state.  

The State Police is fully engaged and determined to cooperate with other law enforcement agencies inside and outside the country, as well as with partners, to make possible the clarification of old events and to fight organized crime.  

The State Police assures the citizens that throughout the country, the structures of the State Police are conducting intensive operations to prevent and attack illegalities in whatever field they appear, as well as its investigative structures are working intensively to clarify the murder that happened yesterday evening, in Lezhë. - announces the police.
