EMS Albanian Port Operator, which has concession to the eastern terminal in the port of Durres, reacted today, a day after the reaction of the Port Authority durrës regarding the situation created at the terminal on Saturday.

EMS accused APD of arbitrary actions, claiming that it had forced entry into the terminal in the early hours of the morning and blocked the operation of the concessionary company with concrete blocks.

In today's response, EMS stresses that access to the concession area has been affected and restricted.

"Unlike the APD claims, it has intrude and restricted EMS OR access to concession areas. As can be understood from the photos and documents (available for download below), the areas of which THE APD claims that they will be developed in the course of the development of the Durres Marina & Yacht project, are, in fact, part of the EMS APO Concessionary Zone. APD has delivered these areas which according to the terminal delivery protocol.

The concrete blocks that APD has placed are located within our Concession Area and limit the movement of our vehicles and our customers, i.e. the concessionary activity," the statement reads.

At the same time, the company rejects APD's statement of poor performance, while inviting "Durres Port Authority to return to legality by liberating our concession areas".

We refer to the clarification that APD has given regarding the serious event occurred on 29.07.2023.
Unlike the APD claims, it has violated and restricted EMS OR access to concession areas. As can be understood from the photos and documents (available for download below), the areas of which THE APD claims that they will be developed in the course of the development of the Durres Marina & Yacht project, are, in fact, part of the EMS APO Concessionary Zone. APD has delivered these areas which according to the terminal delivery protocol.

The concrete blocks that APD has placed are located within our Concession Area and limit the movement of our vehicles and our customers, i.e. concessionary activity. The presentation of the event by APD as an intervention to realize rights derived from the law is untrustworthy. The fact is that APD on 29.07.2023 has violently taken the surface from our Concession Areas, invading them. Violation of EMS or concessionary rights by APD has been frequently increased after the government approved the Project Marina & Yachts of Durres.

Regarding the performance of EMS APO, international companies that have implemented the most important projects in Albania think differently from APD. They have trusted the professionalism of EMS or we have never let their trust down. We take the opportunity and invite the APD again to return to legality by liberating our concession areas.
