Three cases of attempts to introduce undeclared money have been struck within one week at the port of Durrës, bringing the number of operations to 10 since the beginning of this year. The seized money exceeds the value of 1 million euros, while the 10th is the number of people arrested, mainly drivers of vehicles, but also owners of transport agencies for non-declaration of monetary values.

Most of them were found hidden in buses, vans and trucks, while the mechanism used was almost similar. The police suspect that the money that was trying to enter our country illegally derives from criminal activity. Different groups, outside the borders, use sea transport to bring them into our country, TV Klan reports.

For every hit case, the police used almost the same detection methods. Information received on the operative route, keeping suspects under surveillance, based on risk analysis and information provided by police intelligence, scanner and physical control of vehicles.

In addition to them, control is also exercised with police dogs, trained mainly for the detection of narcotics, weapons, etc., through which other places where illegal materials can be hidden are identified.

The amount of money remains seized as material evidence, until the legal documentation of its source. While the prosecution has not been able to identify for every case, beyond those arrested in flagrante delicto.
