"I work at customs" is a phrase that sometimes has the effect of a magic key in Albania. With it you can gain sympathy or even care and surprising "respect" from those in front of you. It is with this expression that a 25-year-old woman in Tirana was introduced.

The young woman with the initials M. C aged 25 appeared seriously dressed in a well-known boutique in the capital, and after choosing the best clothes she showed that she needed for a job, where she insisted that she was engaged as customs official.

"I need them for everyday use at customs", added the young woman and without batting an eyelash she paid for the expensive clothes

The woman who has owned the clothing business for 16 years has dedicated herself to service

"The customer came after some time - she reports to the police - and during the conversation she told me that the customs would auction the Rolex watch".

Convinced that she had connected with the right official to do business, the complainant, according to the police sources of "Si" Newspaper, did not hesitate at all. "He told me that usually the watches were taken to the jeweler. I did not hesitate, it was an opportunity to make good economy. He asked me to give him a hold as the Rolex watches had to be cleared, and that nothing could be done without a hold. Then, when he noticed my interest, he sent me the photos of the first two hours and asked me to pay 350 euros for the third one so that it wouldn't be auctioned."

The police tell "Si" newspaper that for each of the Rolex watches that were photographed, a ransom of 350 euros was paid and that the total amount paid is 1,000 euros. As the days passed, the complainant continued the routine, waiting until the day when she was called by a second person.

"The person with the initials LH told me that I should go by the boss's office because the boss had made the payment for the Rolex", recalls the businesswoman deceived by the 25-year-old.

By exchanging messages, the businessman told him that he was still outside and that he would take the expensive watches as soon as he arrived.

Days later, the police informed the newspaper "Si", "trying to protect the businessman from customs interceptions, he tried for more than a week to contact the boy who was introduced to him as the man who would hand over the watches".

This turned out to be impossible. "I went to the place where I thought LH could be found and when I went up I couldn't find him, no one had heard of him. And not even for the customs office".

However, the woman was incredulous for fear that she had been deceived. "Gradually I started to ask about the girl and I learned that the customs, when they seized goods, put them up for auction, which means that the cap for the Rolex was correct," the businessman told the police.

However, she found it difficult to contact and connect on the phone.

“Në numrin që më kishte telefonuar ndonëse nuk po arrija ta gjeja dhe dilte inegzistent, rashë në kontakt. Vajza më tha se punonte tek forcat operacionale dhe kur rashë në adresën e saj, pronarët e shtëpisë më thanë se nga një vit vajza na ka paguar vetëm dy herë qiranë. Në këtë shtëpi pronarët mu ankuan se ajo vajzë kishte shitur gjërat e lëvizshme dhe se kishte paguar vetëm dy muaj paradhënien dhe pastaj ishte zhdukur”,- denoncon më tej biznesmenia.

Policia thotë se më pas biznesmenia ka vrapuar në polici për të kërkuar ndihmë.

Bëhet me dije se mbasi kanë kqyrur telefonin e gruas, ku ajo vazhdonte ta mbante të shënuar emrin e 25-vjeçares me emrin “drejtoresha e doganave”, ka bërë identifikimin e saj dhe më pas e ka arrestuar për akuzën e mashtrimit.

"The young woman has not yet given any statement", the sources say, according to which, most likely, she has defrauded dozens of businessmen in Tirana with the same scheme.
