The State Police has reacted regarding the death of 31-year-old Ilvi Meta to the Kavaja Police, stating that the general director Gledis Nano has sent an inspection group to this police station.

Regarding the event that took place today, at the Kavaja Police Station, where in the security rooms was found without signs of life, the citizen IM, suspected of suicide, who was detained at noon today, we inform that: General Director of Police Gledis Nano immediately sent to the Kavaja Police Commissariat, an inspection team, composed of specialists from the Department of Public Safety and the Directorate of Professional Standards, to verify whether or not the standard procedures for the safety of escorted persons have been implemented, arrested and detained by the Kavaja Police Commissariat ", it is said in the notification.

The State Police also informs that the investigative actions are being carried out by a special investigative group of the Agency for Police Supervision, under the direction of the Prosecution at the Kavaja Judicial District Court, while explaining that " the State Police is not part of this investigation".

"The State Police remains committed and interested in clarifying and fully documenting the event," the statement said.
