Former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs has appeared in court over his ex-girlfriend's allegations of unprecedented violence and threats to share erotic videos of her if she did not respond to his messages.
In Kate Greville's testimony, it stands out that on one occasion, Giggs shot her in the head with a laptop, while the most serious is that he dragged her from a hotel room and threw her naked in the corridor on two occasions .
Kate broke down in tears in an interview with police where she described the violence Ryan Giggs had inflicted on her over the years, usually when she berated him after discovering texts in which the former Wales manager flirted with women.
The case of the 48-year-old headbutting his partner happened during an argument at his 1.7-pound residence, after controlling and abusing her for three years. The court today heard Greville's full 105-minute interview with detectives in November 2020 after the alleged attack, in which she described how they began an affair after their failed marriages.
She said that at first they were very happy, seeing Giggs as her "soul mate", but the relationship would later become 'toxic'. Giggs' "cycle of abuse" includes an e-mail titled "blackmail" with a video named "we had made" and a threat to share it.
“He wouldn't leave me alone, there was never a moment when he didn't want to have sex. In a hotel room in London, he hit me in the back so hard that I flew out of bed and landed on the floor."
She then claims he 'pulled' her while she was naked in the bedroom suite area. "He took my bag with my laptop and threw it at my head," she told detectives, claiming Giggs then dragged her out of the hotel room naked, before letting her in around 10 minutes later before committing sexual intercourse again.
"I don't know if he did it to make me jealous. He would completely ignore me and talk to other women. He also flirted with my friends." Recalling an argument when they were staying at a hotel in Abu Dhabi, she said: "I asked him is he texting a girl?"
Giggs then reacted by kicking her out of the room while she was undressed. "He turned around, got in my face and said, 'How dare you, it's my daughter.' We are closing it here, you know."
“He grabbed my wrist, so hard, he dragged me into the living room and dragged me off the floor. He threw all my things in the hallway and closed the door and wouldn't let me in," she confessed.
