Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of €145m. Barcola, 23, has signed a five-year contract with the English club, leaving the reigning European champions.
Liverpool reached an agreement with PSG last week, after weeks of negotiations to reduce the valuation of the French club, who were initially demanding around 169 million euros.
"It's a great pride to play for Liverpool. I'm very happy," said Barcola.
"It took a long time, but today I'm really happy to be able to play for Liverpool. All I want is to be on the pitch and play. I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, to win the Premier League – it's one of my biggest dreams in life. I want to do that and stay at this team for a long time. That's why I signed a long-term contract and I hope I can do it. I've had the opportunity to play twice at this stadium, Anfield, and I've seen the atmosphere and the way the fans get behind Liverpool players. When I found out about Liverpool's interest in me, I didn't ask any questions and I knew it was a very big club for me."
Barcola has been Liverpool's main target for several months, as the English club sought a replacement for Mohamed Salah, following the Egyptian's transfer to Trabzonspor.
Liverpool had previously targeted Yan Diomande and made an offer for him, but it was rejected. The striker then ended up at Real Madrid.
Negotiations for Barcola were led by sporting director Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon.
Barcola was formed in the Lyon academy, and has spent the last three seasons at PSG. With the French club, he won two Champions Leagues and three Ligue 1 titles.
The winger represented France at the World Cup this summer and scored against England in the third-place play-off. In total, Barcola has scored 39 goals in 152 appearances for PSG.
