It is now official. Erling Haaland will play for Manchester City next season. The announcement was made by the English club itself.
"Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the club on July 1, 2022. The transfer remains subject to the termination of the club's terms with the player," reads the Citizens statement.
For Haaland's card, Manchester City will pay 75 million euros in Dortmund's coffers, as much as it was foreseen in the clause for premature termination of the contract between the parties.
On the other hand, the talented Norwegian striker himself will receive a salary of 30 million euros per season, as well as a firm bonus, which is not yet announced by any of the parties involved in the negotiations.
Now Pep Guardiola will have in the team the striker so much desired by him, as the club has won the competition with teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Haaland, who will be 22 years old in July, has scored 85 goals in 88 appearances for Dortmund, who was joined by RB Salzburg in January 2020.
