The head of the branch of the Democratic Party in Lezhë, Arben Ndoi, has resigned today, just 5 months after being elected to this post.

The news of his resignation was announced by Ndoi himself through a post on social networks, where he shows the reasons for taking this decision.

He writes that he did not keep the promise given to the democrats for their union because of a small minority, who have benefited so much from the DP and most of them never tried to vote and without any political action.

According to him, these people waste so much negative energy in an unprincipled war within the species, and for a second I did not see them opposing the political opponent, Rilndje.

Ndoi further adds that unfortunately some of these servile, deceitful, behind-the-scenes, intriguers find ground and support from certain appendages within the PD at the center.

Dear members of PD Lezhë branch!

Being unable to contact any of you, I am informing you that yesterday I officially asked the Chairman of the DP of Albania, Mr. Sali Berisha, to resign from the position of Chairman of the Lezhë branch.

Dear friends!

A few months ago, I asked you for the confidence to be the Chairman of PD Lezhë.

The situation in which the Democratic Party found itself was the worst in 31 years. And I believed that I could do something to fix the situation within DP, at least locally. Although I myself did not and do not feel any responsibility for the situation in which the Democratic Party finds itself today.

And you, dear member, responded nobly and positively to my call to vote for me.

Although certain persons in Lezhë and Tirana strongly lobbied that my name did not appear as a candidate for Mayor from Tirana.

Even though I was unemployed for 3 years, without any business or private activity, without certain properties or interests, on April 25, 2022, you voted massively for me.

You voted for me simply because I was one of you since February 11, 1991.

You voted for me because as long as I have held an official position in the state administration, I have waited and escorted, treating with all due dignity every person who has knocked on my office.

You voted for me even though since 1990, when I finished my higher studies, I have been unemployed for 11 years, simply for political reasons.

Your confidence gave me a satisfaction that does not happen often in a person's life.

When I asked for your vote, I promised that I will be with you, by your side, at the head of the opposition action in PD Lezhë.

The first promise I made to the media as soon as I was elected was that I will do all my efforts for the unification and unification of PD Lezhë. I asked for the cooperation and support of every democrat.

But the coin has two sides. On one side are you, the simple members of the DP, who over the years have given everything to this party.

I falenderoj të gjithë.

E nga ana tjetër janë një pakicë e vogël, të cilët kanë përfituar aq shumë prej PD. Shumica prej tyre të pa sprovuar asnjëherë me votë dhe pa asnjë aksion politik.

Pikërisht këta persona harxhojnë kaq shumë energji negative në një luftë të paprinciptë brenda llojit. Ndërkohë që për asnjë sekondë nuk i shikova të bëjnë opozitë ndaj kundërshtarit politik, Rilndjes, e cila qeveris pothuaj prej 10 viteve Shqipërinë.

Për fatin e keq disa nga këta servilë, hileqarë, prapaskenistë, intrigantë, gjejnë terren dhe mbështetje nga apendikse të caktuara brenda PD në qendër.

Kjo ndikon në krijimin e një frymë negative dhe afekton mbarëvajtjen e punës brenda PD Lezhë. Dhe natyrisht kjo ka shkaktuar edhe një demotivim timin në kryerjen e funksionit tim si kryetar.

E mirëkuptoj edhe zhgënjimin e disave prej jush nga ky akt i dorëheqjes time.

But in the conditions of the impossibility to change this reality, I had only two alternatives: change my character at this age (56 years old) or resign.

And between these two alternatives, I decided without any hesitation to choose the latter.

Considering the fact that in front of us are the primaries for the selection of the candidate for Mayor, I thought that any delay in the act of my resignation would cost Lezhjan more to the democrats.

In this way you will have enough time to choose the new Chairman.

And then select the candidate for mayor, that this time, in addition to your vote, there will also be the vote of DP sympathizers.

I will continue to be your friend always!
