Yesterday, President Bajram Begaj started the consultations to set the date of the local elections of 2023. He held a meeting with Ilir Meta. He also invited Berisha's group, conducting consultation with Oerd Bylykbashi. Likewise, the leaders of the small opposition parties who proposed the date of May 14 for the holding of local government elections.

The group of deputies who are part of the "Alliance for Change" parliamentary group, headed by Fatmir Mediu, were the last to be in Begaj's office for the election date.

The head of state also consulted with his predecessor. Ilir Meta, who has returned to the electoral contest after 5 years, now as the chairman of the Freedom Party, is ready to accept any date that other parties may prefer.

Meanwhile, Bajram Begaj has initially opened the office for the democratic deputy, Oerd Bylykbashi, a supporter of Sali Berisha's group.

Although the Assembly keeps a distance from this grouping, it seems that Bajram Begaj will stay above all the parties, inviting Bylykbashi in the morning for consultation on the date of the elections.

Bajram Begaj will continue his meetings this week, meeting today with the head of the democratic group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, and on Thursday with Shpëtim Idrizi from the PDIU and Taulant Balla from the SP.

In any case, the election date will be set between April 15 and May 15. However, it seems that politics is heading towards the last Sunday of this term, which is May 14.
