The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has been provided with the necessary documentation, which allows him to travel to the United States of America.

Sources for Vox News inform me that the Democratic leader is expected to collect his passport tomorrow morning at the American Embassy in Tirana.

The trip to the US is expected to take place next week, while Berisha is expected to be accompanied by the chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, Belind Këlliçi, Albana Vokshi and Enri Ceno.

The news about the Democrat leader being issued a visa comes just a few hours after Berisha stated that his documents were still at the American Embassy and that he had not received notification about his passport.

"No, I had no notification, neither the hour, nor the minutes," Berisha emphasized at a press conference.

Earlier, he had announced that he had no meetings scheduled at the US State Department.

According to Berisha, the destination of the visit is expected to be Texas, where he intends to participate in a conference of American Republicans, as part of a delegation of the International Democratic Union.

"The documents are at the American embassy and I have not booked any meetings. I am going, as you know, to Texas to the conference of the American Republican Party for the midterm elections. I am in a delegation of the International Democratic Union, a large delegation, which is invited by the Republican Party, the main party in the IDU, to participate in this conference. In addition, I have an invitation from a Republican institute," Berisha said.
