The Democratic Party has raised doubts about the assets of former Minister of Culture and Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro , requesting that justice institutions verify and control her assets.
In a statement to the media, the DP's spokesperson for anti-corruption, Genta Vangjeli , announced that the verification of asset declarations shows that Kumbaro owns, together with her family, 7 apartments and 2 garages.
Vangjeli states that the asset declarations include several apartments with areas ranging from 55 to 128 square meters, while a 92 square meter apartment was declared in 2024 with a value of 200 thousand euros, which, according to her, is still unregistered.
Meanwhile, the DP's anti-corruption spokesperson emphasizes that during the time when Kumbaro held her position as Minister of Culture, her husband received honorarium payments in 2015 from the AADF foundation, which, according to the DP, continuously cooperates with the ministry in question.

From the examination of the declaration method, the following are observed: Inconsistencies and lack of pages according to the serial number in the declarations in 2013; 2015; 2017. Repeated details, but different prices, such as the garage, which Kumbaro declared purchased in 2021, garage 18 m², price 12,800 euros; while the husband declares in 2025 a garage with the same surface area 18 m², price 2,000 euros.
During the time that Kumbaro held office as Minister of Culture, her husband in 2015 declared that he had also received payments in the form of honoraria from AADF, a foundation that has a very close relationship and continuous cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. Under these conditions, the DP requests that the HIDAKKI and SPAK fully verify the family's wealth, source of income, donations of apartments, purchase and sale transactions and any discrepancies in periodic declarations. Transparency regarding the wealth of officials is not a political choice, but a legal and moral obligation towards citizens.
