Member of the European Parliament, Angel Chavdarov Dzhambazki, has warned Serbia that it will burn if it plays with fire.

Through a post on Twitter, the deputy writes: "Serbia is playing with fire. If Vucic is not controlled, they will burn. We stand with Kosovo."

His reaction comes 1 day after the tensions in the north of Kosovo, caused by the agreement on the reciprocity of license plates.


What happened in the north

The Government of Kosovo has postponed for one month the decision to implement reciprocity with Serbia, for license plates and identification documents, this after the Serbs placed barricades on the roads leading to the two border crossing points with Serbia - Jarinje and Bërnjak. The postponement of the implementation of the decision on reciprocity with documents against Serbia came from the request of the USA. This request was forwarded by Ambassador Jeff Hovenier, in an urgent meeting in the late hours of July 31, with President Osmani, Prime Minister Kurti and the two Deputy Prime Ministers, Bislimi and Gërvalla.

The police confirmed that there were gunshots in the north and some citizens were mistreated at the border. In some places, the police said that shots were fired at police units, but that no one was injured.

In this situation, the two border points Brënjak and Jarinje were blocked. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora instructed compatriots to use other border crossing points to enter Kosovo.
