The city of Akron in the central US state of Ohio is bracing for new reactions from residents after the release of body camera footage showing the killing of a young African-American man last week.
Protesters marched through Akron on Saturday demanding justice for 25-year-old African-American Jayland Walker, who police initially said was stopped for a traffic violation.
"We have a problem with the hypocrisy shown on this issue. If this happened to everyone in our community, we would not react. But this does not happen to everyone. The capital of the country was attacked and only one shot was fired during the incident. They tried to overthrow the United States government and only one bullet was used. This individual was shot over 90 times. This is wrong and unfair," says protester Hamza Khabir.

There is ZERO ZERO ZERO justification for this type of excessive, and unconstitutional execution.

Police chased the African American Walker for a short time in his car and then he got out of his car and ran away. According to reports, he was shot at least 60 times by the police.
"He was probably one of the most positive people I've ever met. So when I first heard the news I thought some mistake had been made. I thought they had shot someone else. But I'm sad that now I can't talk to him anymore," says protester James Crawl.
Akron's police chief said Sunday that African-American Jayland Walker had opened fire on police before police approached his car.
This is one of the most recent cases of an African-American being killed by police officers.
