After the meeting with the chairman of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, the head of the government, Dimitar Kovacevski once again repeated his position that the new French proposal for solving the issue with Bulgaria does not harm the Macedonian language and identity. Kovacevski told the citizens that at the moment we need rational thinking and that this proposal should not be rejected.
"It is easy to refuse, to delay, to choose new uncertainty, but at this historical moment we need rational thinking with a cool head. There is a need for wisdom and responsibility and objective analysis of all scenarios, taking care of the future of our children", Kovacevski declared.
The leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, said that he has offered Kovacevski that if he rejects the French proposal, he will give up the demand for early parliamentary elections.
"I offered Kovacevski to come out and reject this proposal, and that I withdraw from the request for early parliamentary elections. To deploy all the capacities of VMRO-DPMNE, institutionally, and help the government overcome the challenges that will come before us this winter", said Mickoski.
Mickoski adds that in the spring, after the most difficult winter has passed, they will have to sit down again at a common table with Kovacevski to reassess the current situation. After receiving the proposal, Prime Minister Kovacevski announced extensive consultations with the coalition partners, the president of the state, the parliament, the civil sector, but also with the opposition.
