Alexey Navalny

Navalny has reacted for the first time after a Russian court ruled him to 19 years in prison on charges of creating an organisation that violates human rights.

The profile managed by his close friends on Twitter says the number of years doesn't matter to a political prisoner like him.

He writes that he is aware that the sentence is eternal and will last as long as his life, or the life of putin's regime.

He calls on the Russians to resist.

Navalny's reaction:

19 years in a maximum security penal colony. The number of years doesn't matter. I understand very well that, like many political prisoners, I am sentenced to life imprisonment. Where life is measured by the term of my life or the life term of this regime.

The penalty figure is not for me. It's for you. You, not me, are being scared and deprived of the will to resist. You are obliged to hand over your country to Russia without war to the gang of traitors, thieves and vile who have taken power. Putin should not achieve his goal. Don't lose the will to resist.
