An unusual event has occurred at Miami International Airport in Florida. Security cameras caught two Transportation Security Administration employees at the airport stealing from passengers' bags during a security check, or at least that's what police suspect, who have already arrested the security officers.
Taking advantage of the flow of passengers, they reached into their bags and took money and valuables. The arrest of the two officers caught on security cameras was made in July and they are facing charges of theft, which police say is suspected to have happened over the years.
Josue Gonzalez, 20, and Labarrius Williams, 33, are facing burglary charges. A third officer, Elizabeth Fuster, was arrested in July. The security officers themselves have pleaded not guilty.
This is considered an unusual case, according to the Miami police, due to the fact that the officers knew that they were under 24-hour surveillance by security cameras.
Their arrests came after authorities launched an investigation into suspected thefts at the airport's Security Checkpoint. A passenger claimed $600 was stolen from his wallet.
