Minor girls have been molested by some Moroccans, who have taken advantage of the chaotic situation caused by the deadly earthquake.
The National Committee for the Coordination of Measures to Combat and Prevent Human Trafficking said that by monitoring social networks, posts, photos and messages, it found offensive content against minors who lost their parents in the earthquake.
Activists on social networks also denounced the behavior of the groups who went to the affected villages to offer aid, but took the opportunity to molest minor girls in the area and also proposed marriage to them in order to "win the favor of God".
As some foreign media reports, there have been cases where orphanages have illegally given children for adoption.
Civil society organizations immediately swung into action, calling for coordination with the authorities and reviewing the cases of orphaned children so that they are protected from the dangers they may be exposed to, such as kidnapping, sexual harassment and rape.
For their part, the Moroccan authorities submitted the monitored cases to the relevant judicial authorities and also made available to them a toll-free number to report criminals and potential victims of human trafficking.
