"The disaster happened, here's what we have to do", disturbing

New York City has released an awareness video for its residents in case of a possible nuclear attack, just moments after Russian state media boasted that Putin could wipe out the East and West Coasts of the US with just 4 missiles.

In the clip released Monday, the city's Department of Emergency Management tells New Yorkers: “So there's been a nuclear attack. Don't ask me how and why. Just know that disaster has struck us. Okay, so what should we do?".

"While the likelihood of a nuclear incident occurring anywhere near New York City is very low, it is important that New Yorkers know the steps to stay safe," a spokeswoman said, encouraging citizens to follow some key steps if tragedy strikes.

The three simple steps for citizens to follow are 'get in, stay in and stay tuned' for broadcasts on what to do next.

There is a caution that says staying in a car is not an option. "Do not go outside until officials say it is safe," the video message reads.

"If you were outside after the explosion, clean up immediately. Remove all outer clothing to keep radioactive dust or ash away from your body," it added.

The video message comes at a time when Russian threats to 'exterminate humanity' with nuclear weapons have increased, while in May 2022, Russian state media issued a new nuclear threat to the US, boasting that Putin it can obliterate the entire east and west coast with just four missiles.

Alexei Zhuravlev, a member of Putin's puppet parliament, issued the threat saying that "nothing will be left" on either coast after attacks using Russia's new Sarmat 2 nuclear weapon and that the nuclear mushroom cloud would be seen up to Mexico.

Zhuravlev then threatened 2 million Ukrainians with annihilation, describing them as 'incurable' Nazis who would never be persuaded to support Russia's war.

The Sarmat 2 is Russia's latest generation nuclear missile that is thought to be capable of carrying up to 15 hypersonic warheads, which Putin boasts are capable of evading all current missile defenses.

Just last month the Kremlin warned that Europe would disappear in a nuclear apocalypse – a verbal attack in response to Western allies promising more armaments to besieged Kiev.
