Strategic Investments, Rama captured by Kastrati, Mane, Ulaj, Allajbeu and the
Prime Minister Edi Rama with his cabinet ministers in a parliamentary session

Note: The majority used the force of cartoons to overturn the proposal of a group of opposition MPs to set up a parliamentary inquiry commission. So far there is nothing wrong with that. After all, as representatives of the majority of Albanians, they have the right to use the card for any decision-making that according to them is right and in the service of the public interest.

But was the rejection of the initiative to investigate the procedures and decisions of the Strategic Investment Committee, chaired by the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, in the service of the public interest? The manner and reasoning given by the Socialists in the three cases when they rejected the initiative suggests no.

The first refusal at the Conference of Presidents sometime in mid-May was made with the help of an opposition MP on the grounds that it was not filled with the signatures of 35 MPs, as required by the Constitution and the rules of procedure of the Assembly. In fact, the document had 35 signatures, but Agron Duka withdrew its support at the last moment, as Artan Gaçi was mentioned as a strategic investor in the justification of the request. Gaçi is the husband of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka.

Consequently, with this decision, Rama defended Shefqet Kastrati, Samir Manen, Bashkim Ulajn, Klodian Allajbeu and other oligarchs who have torn apart the looting of public property over the years, especially on the coast. There are two possibilities why they defended themselves: either Rama has sided with the oligarchs, or the oligarchs have captured him.
