Note: For nearly a week Albanians have been paying the price of oil at 248 leks and in the absence of a civic response, the price board has forgotten to meet to revise this price.
In the short-lived but deeply clientelist history of this board there was a case when the price was revised within the day with increases. But when it comes to lowering it, Chet's board becomes lazy.
As a rule, the board should have gathered on Friday, when international oil markets sat down following the EU's decision to import fuels from Venezuela and the IOC declaration to increase production.
But the Chetboard only meets when the price of fuel surges on international stock exchanges and throughout the weekend Albanians bought the litre of oil at points controlled by Shefqet Kastrati at 20 leks more expensive than at points outside the control of the hydrocarbon cartel, as MP Erion Brace calls it.
If the average daily consumption of about 1500 tons per day is taken, only by this difference in price, Chet Kastrati has collected about 600 ml of lek.
So the time is gold for Chetty and the longer the board gets together and revises the price, the more he's arched.
Socialist MP Erion Brache has named the board as the lecturer of the fuel cartel, indicating that in retail outlets supplied to Castrati and Gega, but which are not under their control, the price is up to 13 leks cheaper.
