From food oil theft, to millions of dollars – Charges against Meta when

Ilir Meta was the country's Prime Minister from November 1999 to February 2002. But the short period of less than three years was filled with accusations and scandals of the most common, near corruptive.

Many of these accusations and scandals were denounced by Sali Berisha at the time, which accused Meta of stealing food oil, the 'Majko' tax, to millions of dollars of tenders on roads, water, infrastructure and energy.

Not including the charge of stealing gold in Krraba, the other charges Sali Berisha filed at the time against Meta were dozens. He accused him as the man who introduced corruption into politics, which included criminals and fugitives of justice in the police, even providing them with emigration by making them part of official delegations during visits to Europe.

Most of Berisha's accusations against Meta have been pronounced after the 2001 elections, i.e. in the last two years of the 'Meta' government. Of these, in one year, the anticorruption structure in the Prime Minister is run by The Kraja.

How much this structure has worked and acted, the fact that today Ilir Meta is president of the country is the clearest evidence of its failure. Meta has been denounced for the disappearance of 530 ml of EU donations for employment promotion.

It has been denounced as disappearing over 13 ml of fictitious tenders for the reconstruction of roads in Tirana, Durres, Tirana and Field-Kumanovo.

It has been denounced for stealing 200,000 tons of wheat and 100,000 tonnes of food oil, which came to the country as US aid.

He has been denounced for stealing 250 ml of money from the state budget through the false purchase of cars from Austria, for which he then signs the scrap sale.

Meta has been denounced as allowing polish company Gdansk to leave the port of Durres, selling capital and leaving behind an 11 ml debt in the form of duties on unpaid taxes and tariffs.

Ilir Meta has been denounced for trying to privatize telekom with a ridiculous 600ml lek figure, while the company sold three years later for $120ml.

These are some of the most serious scandals that have accompanied the rule of Ilir Meta. A good part of these denunciations are said to have ended in SPAK, giving a second opportunity to The Kraja, to do what he could not do when leading anticorruption within the government of Ilir Meta.
