When negotiating in 2012 the passage of TAP through Albania, the government at the time declared that among other benefits would be a payment of about 100 ml euros as tariffs for the passage of tubing.
But today Albania doesn't get a cent for it. The agreement is sufficient with rural road and school construction on the part of tap company, which in return uses Albanian territory without free, unlike in Georgia, Turkey, or Greece.
Former representative of EGL, the company that created TAP, Naska Afezolli in the Albanian show by Rudina Junga in Window TV says this is a shame to be corrected.
"If today we received transit religions, the minimum $90 million would be added to the state budget every year," he said.
According to him, if Albania had a similar agreement with Georgia, today it could benefit up to 500ml euros a year, as gas prices have risen.
Besides others, Albania does not benefit from gas.
Today, the question everyone is raising, after TAP began transmitting azeri gas towards Europe, is where the money TAP had to pay for the addition of pipes to 201 kilometres in length on Albania's territory went.
